Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO)

Receiving our trophy and certificate for winning International Walk to School Week

Welcome to our page.

Junior Road Safety Officers help with the school’s road safety programme by organising competitions and inviting people in to talk to the children about what to do when they are near a road.

We personally visit every class and do a survey every term. We must organise it ourselves. We collect the information and we put it together. We have to email it ourselves to a Road Safety Manager. We enjoy doing it independently and having to take on the responsibility. We feel proud when other pupils follow our lead and walk to school safely.

Our Successes
Last year, in September 2009, all the schools in Inverclyde took part in the International Walk to School Week. We organised activities in our school. We waited for a month to get the results and then, finally, they came. On the 31st of October we found out that we had won. We were presented with the International Walk to School week trophy and the certificate. We were all extremely happy and hope that everyone continues to stay fit and energetic by walking to school.
