Our School

Wemyss Bay Primary is a non-denominational, co-educational school.

The school opened in March 1980. The roll at this time was 231 pupils which meant it was single-stream with one class at each stage from P1 to P7. The school was originally semi-open plan.

In 1991, our first extension was built. This provided an additional 2 teaching bases.

At Easter 2007, the school was decanted to the former King's Glen Primary School building to allow further refurbishment.

The school reopened in the community of Wemyss Bay in August 2008. It now houses 10 closed classrooms over 2 floors, a gym hall with changing rooms and separate dining hall.

The current capacity of the school sits at around 300 pupils. Parents should note that the working capacity of the school may vary dependant upon the number of pupils at each stage and the way in which the classes are organised.
